In another community welfare project under the Civil-Military Coordination (CIMIC) programme, the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) organized a donation of essential school items and dry/fresh ration packs for school children in Palaly North Government Mix Tamil School (GMTS) on Sunday 20 November 2022.
With the intention of enhancing the reconciliation programme in the Jaffna Peninsula, Colonel Suranga De Silva, Colonel (Coord) of the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) coordinated the donation programme with the assistance of Mrs. Thilaka Perera resided in United Kingdom and Mrs. Kaushini Liyanage (Sister-in-law and daughter of Late Brigadier RP Liyanage RWP RSP USP respectively) in memory of Late Brigadier RP Liyanage RWP RSP USP and his wife Mrs. Savithri Liyanage.
A total number of 30 students at the Palaly North Government Mix Tamil School (GMTS), who are undergoing the Weekly English Programme received school accessories along with ration items.
Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) was the Chief Guest. Brigadier Dhammika Karunapala, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Anura Bandara, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, several Senior Officers, students and parents participated for the event.
