The Army Welfare Shop of Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) was relocated at Transit Camp - Kankasanthurei on 15 November 2022. The Welfare Shop was ceremonially opened by the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara at the auspicious timing. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Brigadier Anura Bandara, Brigadier (Admin and Quartering) Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), Lieutenant Colonel AK Weerasinghe USP CES the Commanding Officer of 5th Battalion Engineer Service Regiment and Major LLCS Cabraal psc SLE Overlooking Commanding Officer of 10th Battalion Field Engineer Regiment.
The Welfare Shop was relocated with the aim of facilitating the military personnel as well as the civil society. The Welfare Shop is a combination of both retail and wholesale item.
The relocation process became a reality within a short span of time with the immense contribution of the Commanding Officers and All Ranks of 10th Battalion Field Engineer Regiment and 5th Battalion Engineer Services Regiment, even during the monsoon period.
