It has been observed that due to excessive amount of illicit drug transportation at present, the young generation has been severely addicted to drugs. Accordingly, as per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara and the guidance of General Officer Commandings of 51 and 52 Infantry Divisions, Intelligence troops of 512 Infantry Brigade and troops of 11 Battalion Sri Lanka Engineers have successfully conducted a Combine Operation to capture illicit cannabis at the time of landing from the sea at Ariyalei East.
The Combine Operation was conducted and recovered approximately 100 kgs of cannabis (42 Packets) at 0355 hr on 08 November 2022 at J/90 Ariyalei East. Further investigations are being conducted by Special Task Force (Jaffna).
