Troops of 552 Infantry Brigade under command to 55 Infantry Division of Security Forces (Jaffna), launched another community project as per the conceptual guidance of General Officer Commanding - 55 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG along with the supervision of the Commander - 552 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Wijayanath Jayaweera USP psc.
Accordingly distribution of Book Packs, Dry Ration Packs and Nutritious Lunch Packets (each worth of Rs. 2500.00) among 63 school children and 12 teachers in Tharmakerny Tamil School and Muhamalai RCTM School in Pallai got underway on 17th October 2022 with a collective sponsorship provided by Mrs. Harshani Gunasekara, Mr.Chithrasiri, Mr. Hasitha Samarasinghe, Mrs. Mahesha Samarasinghe, Mrs. Mekala Rodrigo, Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya and his team living in Gampaha.
The make the community project a success the Commanding Officer 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Rohana Thilakaratne, Commanding Officer 23rd Battalion Gemunu Watch, Major Rukmal Rathnayake RSP and the Civil Affairs Officer of 552 Infantry Brigade, Major Ruwan Dehigala provided tremendous efforts whilst adding deserving importance to the children and their development.
