In parallel with the 27th Anniversary of the 512 Infantry Brigade, troops of 512 Infantry Brigade, under command to the 51 Infantry Division of the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna),distributed free spectacles to 100 visually-impaired people in Jaffna and Kayts area in close coordination with the Eye Clinic Section at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital on 22nd August 2022.
The sponsorship for the distribution programme was provided by Lions Club of Negombo Orient together with Lions Club of Jaffna Gateway. Additionally, 50 pairs of school shoes donated to the necessitous students in Jaffna and Kayts area.
Brigadier Thanuja Godewatte, Commander 512 Brigade closely supervised the event and the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General K A A Udaya Kumnara RSP USP USAWC psc attended as the Chief Guest for distribution held at 512 Brigade in Jaffna.
