Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu, the newly appointed Security Forces Commander, with a view to receiving blessings of religious faiths for the first time after his assumption of duties and made a courtesy call on the Government Agent – Jaffna, on Monday 04 July 2022.
At first, the new Commander attended Buddhist religious observances at the Sri Naga Viharaya in the chief incumbent, Ven. Meegahajandure Sri Vimaladeva Thero and Bishop of Jaffna Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin B Gnanapragasam, received blessings.
Afterwards, he met Mr Kanapathipillai Maheshan, the Government Agent – Jaffna. During the meeting, several important matters, such as progress of Civil - Military Coordination and Reconciliation in Jaffna peninsula were discussed.
Brigadier General Staff Officers of the Security Forces Jaffna, Commander 512 Brigade and few other Senior Officers were also present at the occasions.
