Under the guidance & advice of the General Officer Commanding - 55 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunarathne RSP ndu psc IG, a badminton training program was conducted on 11 June 2022 at the 55 division gymnasium to popularize the game of badminton among the youth of Jaffna.
The aim is to provide these programs with the training they need to complete at school, district and provincial level. The purpose of this was to assist the army in innovation national level sportsmen and sportswomen in the Jaffna area.
In this occasion, 35 school and sports club in point Pedro, Nagarkovil, Maradankerni, Ayyakachchi, Pallai and Kaddaikadu were targeted. Breakfast, refreshments and tea were served and lunch was served at the Nature Park holiday Resorts.
General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, Divisional secretary of Maradankerni Mr. P Moorthi presented on the occasion. At the end of the program, Certificates were awarded.
