Ceremonial Opening of Children‘S Park and Reading Arena at 55 Infantry Division on 26 April 2022

Maj Gen Sujeewa Senerath Yapa RWP RSP ndu the Commander Security Forces Jaffna grace the occasion as the chief guest in the inaugural opening of Children’s Park and the Reading arena at 55 Infantry Division at KADDEIKADU constructed under the conceptual guidance of General Officer Commanding 55 Div Brig Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG. With the sheer commitment and the untiring effort taken by the troops of 55 Infantry Division, the project that was initiated accordingly could complete within a short span of time with a very high standard.

This timely needed community project consist of six play items and a tiny library with Tamil, English and Sinhala reading materials suit for both children and parents.

The project was under taken under the theme of “Safe and sound Future for Children” and aimed to provide equal opportunities to the under privileged children in both KADDEIKADU and KEVIL villages. This was financially assisted by Mr. Piyadasa Gamage and Mr. Thushara Amarasinghe.

This will inculcate the reading habits of the children while enjoying the diverse play items which will undoubtedly enhance the physical and intellectual components of the children. Besides, this also will assist to develop emotional, social and moral components that are imperative in developing a balance personality in children which will immensely contribute to create better citizens. Moreover, this also will give an opportunity for parents and adults to spend quality time with their children and also to widen their knowledge by making use of the books available in the library.

Sri Lanka Army “The Defenders of the Nation and the Force with Warm Heart” will continue such worthy projects as a part of reconciliation process and 55 Infantry Division under the guidance of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna will assure a pivotal role in it.
