Jaffna Troops Hand Over Another Shelter for a Needy Family

Troops of the Security Force - Jaffna once again extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to another underprivileged family in Maruthankeni, Jaffna after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force Jaffna.

The new house handing over ceremony to Mrs. Sasindani Madiroopan was held with the gracious presence of the Commander Security Forces -Jaffna amid brief ceremony held on Monday, 21 March 2022.

This new house was built under the close supervision of General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division Brigadier Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG and financial contribution by Mr. Kumar Weerasooriya. The troops belongs to 10th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment provided much-required manpower for the construction work was carried out under 553 Infantry Brigade.

During the brief ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items which required for this newly opened house were donated by the Commander Security Forces Jaffna. Moreover, stationery items for school children’s were also donated for their further studies.

Divisional Secretary - Maruthankeni, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, Brigade Commanders of 551,552 and 553 Infantry Brigades, OIC Maruthankeni, Senior Officers, Government Officials, beneficiaries and their family members, troops of the Security Forces Jaffna were present.

This is another project Completed by the Army to enhance Social integration and expedite the national reconciliation efforts.
