The 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted series of event on 26th February 2022 with the participating of GOC 52 Infantry Division, Major General GGAS Wickramasena RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc as the chief guest. Opening of the newly constructed Civil Staff accommodation building was the first event of the day. Next event was distribution of needy items for twenty selected pregnant mothers of the Chawakachcheri area. Also they were given fresh vegetable packs and dry ration packs total worth of more than Rs 7000.00 for each. Donating of Rs 50000.00 worth of scholarship to a poor, as well as a bright student belongs to Chandramawlesha School at Madduwil was the last event of the day. Financial contribution for this scholarship was given by the Mr Ruwan Rathnayake presently living in Japan.
Commander 523 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier SBWMN Samaradiwakara RSP USP, Col GS 52 Infantry Division and many other senior officers were participated for this event. Major Shelton Gallage psc, the Commanding Officer of the 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment with all ranks of the Battalion has colorfully organized this series of events by adhering to the COVID 19 guide lines laid by the government.
