The troops of 522 Infantry Brigade under 52 Infantry Division rushed to assist flood affected people in Tawasikulam, Jaffna after torrential rains had caused disruptions to normal life there during the past several days.
During this disastrous situation, troops of 7th Battalion Gajaba Regiment have been extended their assistance by evacuating affected people to safer locations. 10 Field Engineer Regiment provided machinery assistance to clear waterways enabling the uninterrupted flow of flooding water and road clearing on 02 and 03 January 2022. In addition troops have provided cooked meals, drinking water and other essentials for affected people while ensuring their safety and security.
