The newly constructed Ration Stores Complex at the 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Army Service Corps was declared open by the Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, the Commander Security Forces-Jaffna together with Major Madusanka Jayasinha Lsc, Commanding Officer 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Army Service Corps on 05th December 2021.
The construction of this 100 X 40 feet new building was completed within a few months with Army funds and the combined support of Army Engineers troops Jaffna under the supervision of 5th Battalion of Engineer Services Regiment and Ration Stores Complex will facilitate approximately 10,000 troops including officers and ORs serving in the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna).
A mango sapling was planted in the premises of the Ration Stores Complex by the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) to mark this occasion.
Major General Wanditha Mahinkanda, the Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Staff Officers of Security Force (Jaffna), Commanding Officers of under command battalions and soldiers of 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Army Service Corps took part in the event adhering to the health guidelines set by the health authorities.
