During brief ceremonies organized by the troops of 55 Infantry Division, Commander Security Forces Jaffna Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, laid the foundation stones for the construction of two new houses for rehabilitated EX- LTTE families; Mrs. Tharsan Yogeshwari and Mrs. Nirojan Yogam in Alvai and Thumpalai, Jaffna respectively on 28 November 2021.
The 80th Batch of Colombo Royal College Old Boy Association (Tamil medium) bears the financial cost of the raw materials while troops of 16 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment and 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment provide technical expertise and manpower for both constructions under the supervision of the Commander 551 Infantry Brigade.
After the foundation-laying ceremonies, the Commander Security Forces Jaffna donated dry ration packs and stationeries among children of housing beneficiaries. Further, gift packs were distributed among civilians who participated for the events.
General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Commanders of 551, 552 and 553 Brigades, Senior Officers, Government Officials and troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna were also present during this ceremony.
