Two more Army Built Houses Warmed & Inaugurated in Jaffna

Troops of the Security Forces Jaffna built two new houses for deserving families in Karainagar and Puttur after their plights were brought to the notice of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

Accordingly, two house warming ceremonies were held on 27 November 2021 and Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu graced the occasions as the Chief Guest and handed over the keys to particular beneficiaries; Mr. Thampirasa Mathiyalagan and Mr. S Sureshkumar amids Hindu religious observances and traditions. These two houses were donated in par with uplifting the livelihood standards of needy people in the area while promoting gestures of goodwill, reconciliation and harmony between the Security Forces and the civil communities.

Financial contribution for the newly constructed houses was granted by the philanthropist Mr and Mrs. Mohan Shanker while much needed manpower and technical support were provided by the troops of 11th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 15th Battalion of Gajaba Regiment under the supervision of Commanders of 513 and 522 Infantry Brigades.

Further, dry ration packs and essential household items required for these newly-warmed houses were donated to the house owners by the Chief Guest in marking the events.

General Officer Commanding of 51 and 52 Divisions, Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, Commanders of 513 and 522 Infantry Brigades, Senior Officers, Government Officials, beneficiaries and their family members, troops of the Security Forces Jaffna were present during the inaugural ceremonies adhering to the stipulated health guidelines formalities.
