Medical Officers and Public Health Inspectors of Jaffna in collaboration with the troops of the 4th Battalion Medical Corps carried out the inoculating of the first dose of Pfizer vaccine for schoolings aged 18 and above in Jaffna peninsula on 21 October 2021.
Vaccination was taken up in selected educational institutions situated in the MOH areas of Chankani, Jaffna, Kareinagar, Karaveddy, Kopay, Muruthankerny, Nallur, Point Pedro, Sandilipay, Tellipalai, Uduvil and Velanai strictly adhering to the stipulated health guidelines.
This vaccination drive was conducted under the supervision of Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu and District Coordinator - COVID - 19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna.
Teachers of the respective educational institutions and government officials were also present at the event.
