In line with the 72nd anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, troops 552 Infantry Brigade of 55 Infantry Division conducted a blood donation programme under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu and close supervision of General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Major General MK Jayawadena RSP USP ndu at the Headquarters premises of 552 Brigade, Iyakachchi on Monday 04 October 2021.
This programme was carried out by troops in collaboration with blood bank of Jaffna Teaching Hospital. A total of 150 troops including officers donated blood voluntarily to fulfill the requirement of blood stocks in the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
At the end of the programme, staff of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital highly appreciated the generosity and support given by the Army for saving of lives in Jaffna.
General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Commander 552 Brigade, Brigadier RP Munipura RWP RSP, Senior Officers, Officers and troops were also present.
