Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu who assumed office as the 26th Commander Security Force - Jaffna, made his first field visit to 55 Infantry Division Headquarters on Saturday, 24 July 2021.
The Security Force Commander was warmly welcomed by the Major General Mahinda Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division and was accorded a drive pass at the main entrance. The Security Force Commander addressed the troops at the gymnasium followed by planting a sapling and all ranks tea party. During the visit, Security Force Commander was briefed on the area of responsibilities by the General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division.
Later the Security Force Commander visited Chundikulam area and 553 Infantry Brigade, 10 (V) VIR Battalion, Ammo Dump complex, C coy of 10 VIR, Battalion Training School at Periyapachchapalai and 551 Infantry Brigade area at point Pedro. Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and troops of 55 Infantry Division area were present to witness the series of events.
