Troops of 4 SLSR and 16 (V) SLLI of 551 Infantry Brigade distributed 1000 lunch packets which were sponsored by Mr Kumar Weerasooriya among needy families in Point Pedro and Karaveddi Divisional Secretariats on Poson Full Moon Poya Day.
At a time when travel restrictions had been imposed, the cooked meal packs were delivered to doorsteps of the low-income families under strict COVID -19 health guidelines. Major General Mahinda Jayawardane RSP USP ndu, GOC 55 Division supervised the program under the instructions of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) with the intention of extending community assistance to under privileged people in the area at this difficult period of time.
