A Chilii Cultivation Drive was carried out by the troops of farm at Security Force Headquarters Jaffna in addition to regular crops to strengthen national economy and to enhance the agriculture sector of the country. Chilli cultivation extent is 6 hectare and this timely important agricultural project was launched under the guidance and close supervision of the Commander Security Force (Jaffna) Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu.
Considering the COVID -19 situation of country this Chilli cultivation had been taken place to uplift and to promote agriculture and now its harvest is available in the local market. At present, there is a huge demand for dried chilies among the essential food items imported from foreign countries and this supply is being made to support that demand as well.
