Troops of 551 Infantry Brigade organized and distributed dry ration packs among widow families and self-quarantined families of Rajagamam village in Karaveddy, Jaffna today (05 June 2021). Commander 551 Infantry Brigade and Commanding Officer 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, acting on instructions of Major General Sisira Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, coordinated and arranged 200 packs of dry rations and drinking water at this hour of need for the people in the village with financial assistance from Mr Sathyadasan from Denmark and Sellamuthus Textiles, Nelliady.
During the event which was organized in-line with the concept of providing community assistance to needy population by Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Grama Niladaris of the village and Public Health Inspectors too took part in the house - to - house distribution of ration packs along with troops of 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under strict health guidelines.
