On the directions of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and Major General Sisira Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, troops under command to 551 Infantry Brigade, troops of 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 16th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry who is supporting Medical Officers Health (MOH) Karaveddy and Point Pedro respectively to implement Covid - 19 Vaccination programme, conducted a public awareness programme on 1st June 2021 through public address systems to encourage people in Grama Niladari divisions of Karaveddy North (J/364), Karaveddy Central (J/367), Thumpalai East (J/405), Puloli North East (J/408) to get vaccinated as per the schedule. In the process, people in those Grama Niladari divisions were guided to reach vaccination centres at Sacred Heart School Karaveddy and SivaprakashanVidyalaya Thumpalai.
