Wheelchairs Provision Programme in Jaffna

A wheelchair donating programme at the Velanai Central College Jaffna was held by the Security Force Jaffna, in line with the civil-Military Co-operation in collaboration with the Lions Clubs International Negombo, on 28 March 2021.

The Lions Clubs International Negombo sponsored for this charity service by providing 11 wheelchairs on the request made by the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera.

The ceremony of wheelchairs donating was headed by Commander Security Force – Jaffna together with Chairman of Multiple Council, Lions Clubs International, Mr. Deva D Peter. Commander Security Force (Jaffna) delivering a speech in Tamil language, thanked for the sponsorship of Lions Clubs International Negombo and its officials. Further, he emphasized the readiness and enthusiasm of armed forces to protect and assist the general public in necessary ways. At the conclusion, Mr. Deva D Peter commended the utmost contribution of the security forces and expressed the sincere thanks for the Commander Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna, for his leadership towards this sort of relief programme with blessings of the Commander of the army. Finally, he donated a large amount of Face Masks and Personal Protective Equipment Kits for the usage of the army personals.

General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, Major Genaral Sumith Pramalal, Brigadier General Staff, Senior Officers and officers of the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna, government officials and members of Lions Clubs were also present this occasion.
