A number of 127 foreign employees flew from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Egypt and Oman set off to their homes after completing more than two - week quarantine process at Vasavilan Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on Monday, 22 March 2021. Having gone through the required quarantine procedures, they were awarded with quarantine certificates by Commander 521 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Mahen Salwatura RWP RSP USP and Senior Staff Officer 521 Infantry Brigade. Soon after the awarding of certificates personnel who under went the quarantine process appreciated the commitment and dedication of the army troops at Vasavillan Quarantine Centre.
The quarantined people were segregated according to their respective residential locations and provided necessary transport facilities to reach their destinations in Baddulla, Monaragala, Rathnapura, Hambanthota, Colombo and Jaffna. Furthermore, those personnels were provided with packets of meals, snacks, water bottle etc before commencing their journey back home.
The quarantine process was conducted by the troops of Security Force (Jaffna) under the supervision of Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator - COVID - 19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu with the guidance of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID - 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) headed by General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Chief of the Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
