Fully Facilitated Gymnasium at Palaly Army Cantonment

The All Ranks Gymnasium at Palaly Army Cantonment was recently fully equipped and facilitated for the benefit of Army personnel in Jaffna peninsula. The Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID – 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc declared open the Gymnasium on 18 July 2020 upon the invitation extended by Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces – Jaffna. The ceremony followed by troops address by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army

The construction work of the Gymnasium was completed with Army funds and manpower by the troops under Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna. In addition to fully equipped gymnasium and International standard Badminton Court the Complex is fully equipped with a Tennis Court, Basketball Court and a Volleyball Court.

Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, General Officers Commanding 51,52 and 55 Division, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Senior Army Officers and Troops associated the Army Chief at the opening ceremony. The ceremony was carried out in line with current health guide lines.
