Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna celebrated its 24th anniversary of serving to the people of Jaffna while contributing to the national security and promoting reconciliation in the peninsula this week.
Celebrations commenced with religious observances at the foot of Anuradhapura Sri Maha Bodhi and continued at Sri Nagaviharaya Temple, Nallur Temple, Church of Our Lady of Refuge and Mohideen Jummah Mosque in Jaffna.
Remembering invaluable sacrifices made by the members of Armed Forces who served under Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, a special ceremony was organized to pay floral tribute to the fallen heroes at the Palaly War Heroes’ Monument with participation of Senior Officers and Other Ranks along with the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya on 19th June 2020. Military customs and traditions were followed with restriction in accordance with health guidelines.
The event was followed by planting of a mango sapling by the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) to mark the anniversary.
