Hindu devotees believe that the water cutting ceremony is sacred and to touch this water or to bathe in it is considered particularly efficacious to remove evil. The annual water cutting ceremony of the historic Marimuthu Amman Temple, KKS, Jaffna, took place at KKS beach in morning hours on 24 February 2024. As per the direction and guidance of Jaffna Commander Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, troops of 51 Infantry Division given their fullest support for the water cutting ceremony followed by evening pooja with kovil authority and Hindu Devotees and, enlighten military involvement.
