As part of the ongoing housing project of the Security Forces Jaffna, Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) was symbolically handed over two more newly built houses for unemployed families in Varani, to owners on a ceremony held on 02 April 2024.
Under the programme of Provincial Specific Development Project in year 2023, the Governor’s Secretariat of Northern Provincial Council has allocated 1.8 Million rupees for raw materials of both houses. Houses were constructed by troops of 11th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 7th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment with the technical assistance of 5th Corps of Engineer Services, under the direction and supervision of Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division.
Afterwards, the Jaffna Commander attended for the distribution of stationery to children of Mariyamadi Preschool in Killaly. The event was organized with the direction of Commander 522 Infantry Brigade and 23rd Battalion, the Gemunu Watch offered lunch to the Children. Parents and teachers given their gratitude to the Sri Lanka Army for providing of needy assistance.
Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces (Jaffna), Brigade Commanders of 521, 522, and 523 Brigades, local community leaders and several others were attended for both ceremonies.
