In a refreshingly new multi-dimensional move to raise bonds of existing Civil-Military Cooperation to new heights, the troops of 55 Infantry Division of the Security Forces (Jaffna) constructed and gifted a ‘Children’s Park’ for joy and adventure of children living in Kilinochchi area during a brief ceremony on 05 February 2025.
Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) at the invitation of Major General BGS Fernando USP Hdmc psc, the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division who initiated and fulfilled the project within a very short span, attended the warming ceremony as the Chief Guest.
A new recreational space dedicated, marked a significant step in ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ concept, fostering a safe and engaging environment for the younger generation in Kilinochchi area. Meanwhile, school accessories for 25 preschool children were also distributed during the event.
Mr. S Muralitharan, the District Secretary of Kilinochchi. Mr. T Muhunthan, the Divisional Secretary of Karachchi, Commanders of 551, 552 and 553 Infantry Brigades, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, teachers, children and parents were associated with the day’s event.
