The special lunch organized by the troops of the 551 Infantry Brigade on the 13th of May 2023 left a lasting impact on the children and elders of Sri Paramananda Children's & Elders' Home in Vathiri, Karaweddy. The event was meticulously organized by Brigadier Jude Kariyakarawana under the guidance of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division. Their efforts exemplified the true spirit of Vesak, spreading joy, love, and kindness to those who need it the most.
This noble act of providing a special lunch not only showcased their dedication to the well-being of the community but also exemplified the values of compassion and generosity associated with Vesak.
Together with the Commanding Officers and troops of the 4th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and the 16 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, they ensured that the children and elders received a memorable experience, filled with joy, good food, and warm interactions.
