The Security Forces (Jaffna) marked its 29th Anniversary with a series of commemorative events. On 15 June, a Pirith Chanting programme was held, followed by a tribute to the fallen War Heroes at the Palaly Monument on 18 June 2025. The Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, was honoured with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour at the Security Forces Headquarters premises.
The day’s event featured a troops address and all-ranks tea. During his address, the Commander emphasized the importance of collective commitment, maintaining discipline at all levels, ensuring proper coordination for communication, and continuing to provide excellent and dedicated services. Additionally, the Commander expressed his gratitude to the former Security Forces Commanders and the fallen War Heroes for their exceptional service in maintaining peace and harmony.
Concluding the day’s programme, a musical night was organized in an effort to boost morale and mental well-being and provide much-needed relaxation for the troops. The event was attended by the Commander, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna), the Commander, Officers and Other Ranks of Logistics Command (Jaffna), and Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Affiliated Battalions.
