As per the direction and guidance of Head of the Green Agriculture Operation Centre and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, Security Forces - Jaffna commenced a 04 days’ workshop on 24 January 2022 at Agriculture Training Centre, Thirunelvely in close collaboration with relevant state agencies. The workshop will be terminated on 29 January 2022. The aim of the workshop is to create a healthy generation of eco-friendly health care environment in line with the His Excellency the President's Vision of ‘Vistas Prosperity’ National Programme.
Commander Security Forces - Jaffna Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa participated as the Chief Guest and spelled out the objectives and Army’s role in Green Agriculture Development Project. In addition, Director Agriculture, Jaffna Mrs Kayleshvaran, Assistant Commissioner, Agrarian Service Mr Nishanthan, Deputy Director, Northern Province, Mrs Sri Ranjana and Senior Military Officers participated to colourful the workshop. 16 x Agriculture Instructors, 12 x Agriculture Research and Production Assistants and 37 x Army personals participated for the inauguration day of the workshop and they will take hand in hand in order to make the workshop a success.
As per the supervision of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, the workshop was organized by the Jaffna District Green Agriculture Coordinator and General Officer Commanding - 51 Division, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe together with the support of Department of Agriculture and Department of Agrarian Service.
