On the direction of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, a one month training programme for junior officers under Security Forces Jaffna was commenced on 20 January 2022 in order to enhance Junior Officers military knowledge and prepare them for the promotion examinations.
Security Forces Commander, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered the opening note and emphasized that the aim of this training programme is to inculcate leadership qualities, impart theoretical knowledge and practical experiences on individual and collective training to groom as confident, competent and professionally sound junior level officers in the Army. And also prepare them for their promotion exams.
During his lecture, Commander educated all participants that military education is valuable because it provides an intellectual architecture for battlefields, it contributes to stable civil-military relations, it reflects on the culture and a capacity for critical analysis and also it cultivates aspirations to excellence. Altogether, 30 student officers in the rank of 2/Lieutenant, Lieutenant and Captains who are serving in the Jaffna peninsula were participated.
Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering and all staff officers of the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) were also presented.
