Poson Full Moon Day, celebrations are around the Jaffna Peninsula and the Eye unit of Teaching Hospital, Jaffna conducted a special cataract surgery programme in order to commemorate poson event on 21 June 2024 to celebrate Poson Day, under the theme of ‘Let’s see the World by Eliminating the Darkness’. Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), graced the poson event as the Chief Guest and Dr. M Malaravan, the Consultant Eye Surgeon of Teaching Hospital; (Jaffna) warmly welcomed him at the entrance of the Eye unit.
Afterwards, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), attended to inaugurate the ‘Poson Dansala’ organized by the Staff of Eye unit by lighting the traditional Oil Lamp. At the end the Commander also got an opportunity to share his thoughts with the Hospital Staff and stated that, Security Forces is always there to assist in an emergency.
The Chief Secretary of Northern Province, Senior Deputy Inspector General in Police of Norther Province,Secretary of Ministry of Health Services in Norther Province along with other dignitaries, Director of Teaching Hospital, Jaffna along with hospital staff participated in the programme.
