Inoculating of the second dose of Sinopharm vaccines for the general public of Jaffna District was successfully carried out by the Medical Teams and troops of 4th Battalion Medical Corps Sri Lanka Army in close co-operation with Medical Officers and public health inspectors of the respective MOH areas of Jaffna District from 28 June to 03 July 2021.
This programe was launched at the government-organized vaccination centres at Chankanai, Chavakachcheri, Jaffna, Karaveddy, Kopay, Nallur, Point Pedro, Sandilippay, Tellippalai and Maruthankerny strictly adhering to the stipulated health guidelines. During the vaccine programme, around 38,657 general public of Jaffna were vaccinated.
This programe was conducted under the supervision of the Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator - COVID - 19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna, under the guidance of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID - 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) headed by General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of the Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
