Palmyra Ingenuity- 2019

Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna Organized 'Palmyra Ingenuity - 2019', an innovation with the view of transforming Imagination in to innovation, for the fourth Consecutive year under the guidance of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya. The exhibition was held on 05th and 06th September 2019 at the Weerasingham Hall, Jaffna and it was opened to the public.

The exhibition was focused to encourage the military personnel, school/university students and people in Jaffna peninsula for continuous learning with experiments, creative thinking and improving new innovations. The First, Second and Third Places were awarded to S/476759 Corporal Dissanayake WPW of 14 Gajaba Regiment, S/368320 Corporal Fonseka GCCR of 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and S/725930 Private Malsha SDN of 7 Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps respectively for The Palmyra Ingenuity - 2019 innovations among other 40 innovations.

Further, the indoor Water Tank Meter (Unit) done by Staff Sergeant Karunathilaka LAD RSP of 4 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, the Enhanced Surveillance System for patrolling done by Captain YSAU de Silva of 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and the Multifunctional Defense System done by Major BMMB Herath RSP of 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps were Some of the innovations highlighted in the exhibition.

Northern province Governor, Dr. Suren Raghavan, District Secretary - Jaffna Mr. Nagalingam Wedanayagam, Sri Lanka Navy North Commander Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera, General Officer Commanding 55 Division Brigadier Sampath Kotuwegoda, Senior Army officers and troops, were present the awarding Ceremony.
