The Officer Cadets Intake 91 of Sri Lanka Military Academy visited the Security Forces (Jaffna) on 27 and 28 July 2022. This visit was as a part of their training curriculum and in line with the Course Study Tour of Officer Cadets. On behalf of the Commander - Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu, visiting Officer Cadets were warmly welcomed by the Brigadier General Staff of the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), Brigadier Shashika Perera.
The visiting delegation consisted with 134 local officer cadets and 3 foreign officer cadets representing Zambia and Maldives. They were given a comprehensive briefing on Jaffna peninsula, origin and development of the Security Forces (Jaffna), role and responsibility of Security Forces (Jaffna) and activities for military aid to civil community by Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), Colonel KA Pushpakumara RWP RSP USP psc.
During the visit, delegation visited Jaffna Fort, Jaffna Library, Sangupiddi Bridge, EPS War Heroes Monument, Manalkadu Sand Dunes, Northernmost Notch in Sri Lanka at Sakkotei, Wallipuram Kovil, Dambakola Pattuna Ponnale and Keeramalai Pond. At the end of the session, Officer Cadets of Intake 91 presented a memento to the Commander - Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu as a token of appreciation. The Commander - Security Forces (Jaffna) also presented mementoes to Officer Cadets Intake 91 and foreign officer cadets to mark their visit of Security Forces (Jaffna).
