The newly constructed house, handed over to a needy family in Kadduwan, on 07 May 2025, is a significant gesture of support and community collaboration. The house was constructed and presented with the leadership and guidance of Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of the Security Forces (Jaffna), who was the chief guest at the event.
The project was managed under the oversight of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding the 51 Infantry Division and Colonel KD Gothatuwa RWP RSP, Commander of the 511 Infantry Brigade. The troops of the 9 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry played a crucial role by providing both technical support and manpower to construct the house.
Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc coordinated the financial backing for the project, which was provided by Mr. Junesh and Sumi Chinniah and facilitated by Vanni Aid Canada with coordination efforts led by Major General Ravi Rathnasingham (Retd). The ceremony also saw the participation of senior military officers, government officials and civilians, all highlighting the collaborative nature of the initiative to support a family in need. This event underscores the strong commitment to humanitarian efforts and the importance of community support in improving the living conditions of underprivileged families.
