Major KGT Jayawardhana RWP RSP psc GR, assumed office as the 10th Commanding Officer of 14th Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment at Jaffna on 01 January 2025 in accordance with military traditions.
Upon arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by the Second in Command and honoured with a Guard Turnout. Afterwards, he was saluted in a colorful ceremonial parade at the Battalion parade ground and he assumed duties by signing an official document amidst religious blessings.
Concluding the day’s proceedings, the Senior Officer planted a sapling at the camp premises and attended the all ranks’ tea while having a chat with troops.
