Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna made his maiden visit to Headquarters 51 Infantry Division at Kopay and its under command Brigades and Battalions on 31th January and 01st February 2024.
At the main entrance of the Division Headquarters, the visiting Commander was accorded a Guard Turnout in conformity with military tradition, by the troops of 14th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment. A minute after, the visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by Major General SWB Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division and ushered him to the Gymnasium where a large gathering of Officers and Other Ranks of 51 Infantry Division and under Command Brigades and Battalions eagerly waiting to listen to their new Commander. During his address, the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna spell out his vision and expectation from troops under his command. To mark the visit to the Division the visiting Commander planted a Na Sapling in the camp premises and posed a group photograph in front of the Divisional Headquarters.
Later, the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division briefed the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndupsc at the divisional conference hall regarding the Area of Responsibility, troops deployment and other important aspects in 51 Infantry Division AOR with the participation of Senior Officers of HQ SF (J), Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of 51 Infantry Division and Battalion Commanders. Before departure from the 51 Infantry Division, the Commander penned his thoughts in the Visitor’s Book.
Subsequently, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc visited Headquarters 511, 513 Infantry Brigades, and its under command Units and Kankesanthurai Ammo Dump area along with the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers responsible for the area and gave necessary instruction.
