A deserving family in Pallei received a new house from Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) on eve of the Army day after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).
The handing over ceremony of the house to Mr. Muththiya Vijayakumar was held with the gracious presence of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) together with Major General Mahinda Jayawardena RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division on 08 October 2021.
During this brief ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items which are required by the family were donated by the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna). Moreover, stationery items for schoolings of the new house were also donated by the Commander.
Financial assistance for the newly constructed house was sponsored by the Chairman of the ‘Thyagi Charitable Trust’ Mr. V Thyagendran, Manager of Peoples` Bank Kodikamam, Mr. Sivanantharaja Gobikrishna and businessman, Mr. Rajiv Seniththaraja. The troops of 23th Battalion Gemunu Watch provided the much required manpower for the construction work expeditiously under the supervision of Commander 552 Infantry Brigade.
The event was graced by General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Government Officials and troops who contributed to the construction.
