Maj Gen WMAB Wijekoon USP ndc, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, made his official visit to the 551,552 and 553 Infantry Brigades and its under command Battalions on 03, 04 and 09 July 2025.
According to the military customs and traditions, GOC was warmly welcomed by the Brigade Commanders along with their Commanding Officers. During the field visit, the GOC took part in serious of events which includes symbolic planting of saplings, comprehensive briefings by Brigade Commanders and group photographs.
Addressing the troops, the GOC shared his vision, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in the area of responsibility. Finaly, he extended his appreciation for the dedication of the officers and other ranks.
