Colonel T B M R Kandekumbura RSP USP assumed duties as the 25th Commander of the 551 Infantry Brigade on 03rd February 2025 at the Headquarters of 551 Infantry Brigade, Kilinochchi amidst formal military traditions.
Upon arrival, the Commander was warmly welcomed by the Civil Affairs Officer and the Commanding Officer’s of 7th Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 11th (V) Battalion, of Gajaba Regiment at the entrance of the Brigade and was accorded a Guard Turnout.
Then, the Commander placed his signature in formal documents symbolizing the assumption of duties. Further, the day’s programme was included Sapling of Plant, an all Ranks tea, troops address and the staff briefing.
