Milk Rice Dansala and a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama Held on Full Moon Poya Day

As per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, troops conducted a “Milk Rice Dansala” on 25th January 2024 at Thissa Viharaya – Kankasenthurai in coinciding with Duruthu Full Moon Poya Day, the first full moon poya in January. Troops volunteered their time and resources to prepare milk rice which was served to more than 600 devotees. The event was organized in a well-coordinated manner to ensure that everyone received a meal and was satisfied.

Further, a Bodhi Pooja (meritorious act) was organized by the troops of the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna) to transfer merits on Fallen War Heroes and invoke blessings on serving Army personnel on the same day. Ven. Meegahajandure Sriwimala Thero, Incumbent at Sri Nagavihara delivered a valuable Dhamma sermon during the Bodhi Pooja Pinkama.

The Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc graced the occasion along with Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff of the Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna. Offer of Atapirikara to the priest who conducted the Dhamma sermon concluded the arrangements.
