On 09 January 2025, Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc formally handed over the duties of the General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division at the Division’s headquarters.
In line with military traditions, the outgoing General Officer Commanding was given a Guard Turnout upon his arrival, followed by the Guard of Honour from the Division’s troops. The official handover of responsibilities took place when Major General Pathiravithana signed the official document in his office, marking the conclusion of his tenure.
During his address to the troops, Major General Pathiravithana expressed his deep appreciation for their unwavering support throughout his time in command. As a symbol of gratitude, the 52 Infantry Division troops presented him with a memento in recognition of his leadership.
Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers, and personnel from all ranks within the Division were attended the event.
