The annual 'Katina Pooja' of the Sri Naga Viharaya - Jaffna was held on 7th November 2020 and 8th November 2020 with the guidance of Viharadhikari Shasthrapathi Ven. Meegahajandure Siriwimala Thero. The Dhamma sermon and religious activities were followed by the 'Katina Cheevara Pooja' which was brought from the Headquarters 512 Brigade and offered to the Maha Sanga. The alms-giving (morning) and offering of Atapirikara to Bhikkus marked the culmination of the Pinkama.
The annual event was organized by the 51 Division upon instructions and patronage of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna Major General Senerath Bandara.
Religious Dignitaries, Government Agent of Jaffna Mr. K. Maheshan, Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, General Officers Commanding 51 and 52 Divisions, Senior Deputy Inspector of General - North province, Mr. Snjeewa Dharmarathna, Deputy Inspector of General, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigade Commanders 511 and 512 Brigades, Senior Superintendent of Police – Jaffna and Senior Officers, sector officials were present at the event to witness the spectacular procession.
This was arr in accordance to the health guide lines issued by Ministry of health.
