Security Forces – Jaffna successfully concluded a four-day workshop conducted to coordinate organic farming and sustainable agriculture in order to create a healthy generation of eco friendly health care environment in line with His Excellency the President’s Vision of “Vistas Prosperity’’ National programme on 29 January 2022. This was conducted at Agriculture Training Centre - Thirunaveli from 24 January 2022 to 28 January 2022 in collaboration with Department of Agriculture and Department of Agrarian Development of Northern Province.
16 x Agriculture Instructors, 08 x Agriculture Research Production and Development Assistance and 37 x Army Officers who are serving in Jaffna participated for the workshop and educated on ongoing Green Agriculture programme.
In order to represent Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, General Officer Commanding - 51 Infantry Division and Jaffna District Coordinator of Green Agriculture Programme, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe graced as the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony and spelt out the guidance and instructions of Head of the Green Agriculture, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, in order to produce wealthy organic fertilizer production in “Yala Season 2022”. Director of Agriculture Northern Province, Mr. S Shivakumar, Director of Agriculture, Jaffna, Mrs. Kailendren and number of Civil and Military officials participated for the ceremony.
