Troops of the Security Force -Jaffna once again extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to another underprivileged family in Navalar Road, Jaffna after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force Jaffna.
The new house handing over ceremony to Mrs. Karunanidhi Jagadishwaran was held with the gracious presence of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and the head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 outbreak with the invitation of the Commander Security Forces -Jaffna during a brief ceremony held on Monday, 12 April 2021.
During the house handing over ceremony, home appliances such as furniture, refrigerator was handed out to the new owner of the house and home owner’s daughter was awarded stationery items and granted a financial assistance for her further education.
Financial contribution for the construction was granted from the government funds by Divisional Secretariats Jaffna. The troops belonging to the 14 Gajaba Regiment provided much-required manpower for the construction work expeditiously under the supervision of Commander 512 Brigade.
General Officer Commanding 51 Division , Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Divisional Secretary Jaffna, Commanders 512 and 513 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Government Officials and troops who contributed to the construction participated in the handing over ceremony.
