Jaffna Troops Deployed for Army Food Security Program

Under the guidance and instruction of Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu, Jaffna troops are set to embark upon another project of national and timely importance on Friday (01) in order to supplement and promote the Army Food Security Program by cultivating varieties of plants and seeds in the Jaffna peninsula.

This emergency cultivation project was kicked off as a supportive mechanism to the government’s cultivation drive and the Inaugural Session of Jaffna Food Security Program was initiated with the participation of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna. Under this programme, troops of the Security Forces Jaffna planted different types of banana trees in one acre land and different kinds of traditional rice varieties at the farm of the Security Forces Jaffna.

Further, in line with the Food Security Programme of Security Forces Jaffna, its respective divisions, brigades, under command battalions and affiliated battalions also launched series of cultivation projects under the guidance and instruction of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Jaffna, Senior Officers, Staff Officers of Security Forces Jaffna and troops of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna were also present the event.
