Jaffna Troops Build One More New House for a Needy Family

One more underprivileged family in Alvai received a new house from the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

The new house handing over ceremony to Mrs. Tharsan Yogeshwari was held with the gracious presence of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces Jaffna together with former Chairman Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Mr. Rajendra Theagarajah and Brigadier Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division on Wednesday, 26 January 2022.

During the brief ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items which required for this newly opened house were donated by the Commander Security Forces Jaffna. Moreover, stationery items for schooling of new house were also donated for their further studies.

Financial assistance for the newly constructed house was given by the Royal College in Colombo Class of 1980 Tamil medium batch and troops of 4th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment provided the much-required manpower for the construction work expeditiously under the supervision of Commander 551 Brigade.

AGA - Point Pedro, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders of 551 and 552 infantry Brigades, ASP - Point Pedro, Government Officials and troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna were also present during this ceremony.

This is another project Completed by the Army to enhance Social integration and to expedite the national reconciliation efforts.
