Troops of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna once again donated much needed blood to save the people's lives in Jaffna upon the request made by Jaffna Teaching Hospital on 20 August 2021. This blood donation tremendously affected to fulfill the extreme requirement of blood stocks in the Jaffna Teaching Hospital as stocks were fast on the decrease, due to COVID-19 pandemic.
This programme was carried out by troops of 4th battalion Sri Lanka Medical Corps with the assistance of doctors and medical Staff of Jaffna Teaching Hospital. A total of 100 troops including Officers donated blood on the guidelines given by Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu.
General Officers Commanding 51 Division, Commander Forward Maintenance Area North, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Brigade Commanders, Senior Staff Officers of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops were also present.
Jaffna troops routinely respond to such requests by the hospital's blood bank.
